St. Paul American School Hanoi is proud to announce that we are now an official nominating partner for the prestigious Morehead-Cain Scholarship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
This recognition marks an important milestone for our school community and creates an extraordinary opportunity for our students.
Founded in 1945, the Morehead-Cain Scholarship is the first merit scholarship program established in the United States. It is widely regarded as one of the most distinguished and competitive undergraduate scholarships in the world.
The scholarship provides:
Full tuition at UNC-Chapel Hill
Room and board
Books and supplies
Four fully funded summer enrichment experiences
These summer programs are designed to develop leadership, character, intellectual curiosity, and global engagement. Scholars participate in international experiences, public service initiatives, professional internships, and outdoor leadership programs — all aimed at preparing them to make meaningful contributions in their communities and beyond.
For students outside of North Carolina, eligibility for the Morehead-Cain Scholarship requires attending an approved nominating school or participating in an official affiliate program.
As an authorized nominating partner, St. Paul American School Hanoi is now able to nominate outstanding high school seniors directly for consideration. This is a privilege granted to a select group of high schools worldwide that consistently demonstrate academic excellence and produce exceptional candidates.
