The elementary music program embraces the 21st Century skills of critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, perseverance, and cultural awareness. All students in grades K-5 receive music instruction based on the National Core Arts Standards (USA).
Students create, perform, respond to, and connect music with other disciplines through a variety of experiences. In addition to the general music program, students have the opportunity to further develop their skills in extracurricular course offerings such as ukulele, keyboarding, and instrumental music.
From the early age of five, students are provided opportunities to perform on stage, showcasing their talents in front of live audiences during annual Elementary musical events, Winter Showcase, and the Spring Concert.
The Secondary music program is St. Paul Sound, comprised of SPASH and Eagles levels. SPASH provides music education for beginners and early learners, while Eagles cater to students who are already musically proficient.
St. Paul Sound music groups:
Annual musical performances provide wonderful opportunities for students to celebrate their talents and provide entertainment for the wider school community. Eagles groups serve as the musical ambassadors for St. Paul, collaborating with other schools and sharing their love of music with the community.
They perform regularly at Hanoi’s most popular holiday event, the JW Marriott Christmas Market, offering entertainment to thousands of holiday shoppers while also raising/donating to organizations in need. All of the music groups showcase their talents at St. Paul’s annual Winter Concert in December, as well as during the Spring Concert in May.
Most notably, our St. Paul Sound Eagles groups compete annually on the American music circuit, earning top ratings against national music standards and top rankings against other schools in the US. We have reached #1 in the top 10% of US Music programs.
