Parents Trip Hanoi 2025

Tradition and Connection with a Parents Trip

Our PALS went on a memorable parents trip from Hanoi to the Conical Hat Village and Incense Village, immersing themselves in the beauty of Vietnamese heritage.

In Lang Chuong, they met two incredible women who have been making conical hats since they were just six years old, carrying on a tradition passed down for generations. Our SPASH members got hands-on experience, ironing leaves and watched carefully how the artisans placed them and hand-sew each piece. Then they got to paint the conical hats. Our crew is truly amazing, they can draw and decorate non la hats like true artists.

The day ended with a lively visit to Lang Huong, where vibrant colors stretched across the ground like a work of art. Dressed in elegant “Ao Dai”, the moms participated in a quick and glamorous photoshoot. We captured the moment with smiles and laughter.

Thanks to all the parents who joined us for this trip exploring Vietnam’s traditions and beauty.

A Journey into Tradition

Meeting two elderly artisans renowned for their conical hat-making, our parents listened in awe as the women proudly shared that they had been mastering this craft since the age of six, passing it down through generations.

Hands-on with Heritage

Our moms learned to iron the leaves, watched carefully how the artisans placed them, and sew each piece. Though challenging at first, our moms impressed even the experts with their ability to iron leaves to perfection, carefully layering and stitching them under the artisans’ guidance.

Painting with Passion

We moved to another place to paint the conical hats. Our SPASH moms are truly amazing, they can draw and decorate those hats like true artists. With brushes in hand, our SPASH moms transformed simple conical hats into beautiful works of art, proving their creativity and love for Vietnamese culture.

No cultural journey is complete without food! After painting, sharing a meal of “bún chả,” our parents savored the flavors of Vietnam’s beloved cuisine.

Colors of the Incense Village

The day ended with a visit to the breathtaking incense-making area, where vibrant sticks of red, yellow, and purple filled the ground like a stunning work of art.

Cherishing the Moment

Dressed in elegant “áo dài,” our moms captured memories through countless photos, embracing the beauty of the moment and the deep-rooted traditions they had experienced.
