Mr. Ben Krentz is a chemist from Northern Wisconsin. He studied Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire, and graduated in 2012. During his tenure at UWEC, Ben was a Rath Foundation scholar, presented at the American Chemical Society, and was published twice in academic journals.
Before becoming a high school chemistry teacher, Mr. Ben worked in research and development labs in the pharmaceutics industry, specializing in early and late-stage compound characterization. Ben has taught in Tianjin, China, Majuro, Marshall Islands; Wuxi, China; and San Jose, Costa Rica. He brings an international perspective to chemical education and focuses on practical problem-solving in his classes. Classes taught include: AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Algebra, and AP Language and Composition. Ben is licensed for Chemistry, Biology, and General Science through the District of Columbia in the United States.
In his free time, Ben enjoys painting, reading, playing ultimate frisbee, and spending time with his wife, Amy.
