
Macara Oshida is the High School Social Emotional Counselor and Grades 9 and 10 Academic Advisor, and she is passionate about supporting students both emotionally and academically. Originally from Virginia in the United States, she began her career as a secondary English teacher and spent ten years teaching in Virginia, China, and here at St. Paul.
Macara transitioned into school counseling to support the whole child and to advocate for student success beyond the classroom, and she is currently completing her Master’s Degree in School Counseling. She believes strongly in the power of student voice and relationship-building as foundations for growth, belonging, and well-being.
In her free time, Macara enjoys reading, hiking, playing volleyball, and sampling new cuisines.
