Kate is from Nashville, Tennessee in the United States. She teaches Grade 11 ELA and AP Language and Composition at St. Paul. She has a B.A, in English Language and Literature with a minor in Theatre from Butler University in Indianapolis and did her MSc in Learning and Teaching at the University of Oxford.

Kate spent 12 years teaching in Istanbul, Turkey and has been teaching in Hanoi since 2023. She has worked with students preparing for the AP Language and Composition Exam as well as the IGCSE First Language English Exam. She has also supported students in prep programs preparing them for the IBDP English A Language and Literature course.

Kate is particularly interested in educational research and the development of curriculum that focuses on the needs and interests of students. Helping students to develop a genuine passion for learning and critical thinking is central to her approach to teaching.
