St. Paul High School students excelled at the World Mathematics Championships Singapore, with six students invited to the WMC Finals in London. Read about their results and recent trip.

The math competition trip to Singapore was both challenging and memorable for our students. After arriving, students visited the iconic Merlion and explored the beautiful waterfront around Marina Bay. In the evening, students enjoyed walking around the area and watching the spectacular light shows near Gardens by the Bay.
On the second day, it was time to get to work and complete. The event consisted of six rounds designed to test both individual skill and teamwork.
The competition was demanding, but it was also an incredible opportunity for students to challenge themselves, engage with like-minded peers, and experience a high-level international mathematics event.
After the competition, students visited the vibrant markets of Chinatown, explored local shops, and tried popular food spots discovered on social media platforms.
Once checked in for the return flight at Singapore Changi Airport, students walked Jewel Changi Airport, one of Singapore’s most impressive attractions. Students had the opportunity to see the mall, take pictures with the famous indoor waterfall, and do a little duty-free shopping before departure.
Overall, the trip was an excellent balance of academic challenge, cultural exploration, and student bonding. It provided our students with valuable exposure to international competition and the chance to connect with other talented young mathematicians from around the world.
St. Paul’s High School is bursting with pride as we celebrate the remarkable achievements of our students in the recent round of major mathematics contests, including the International Youth Math Challenge (IYMC) and the World Mathematics Championships (WMC) Senior Level Qualifier in Singapore.
Our students demonstrated exceptional skill across various categories in the WMC: Dynamic, Technical, Personal Endeavor, Synergy, and Alliance.
