School Health Center
The School Health Center (SHC) is open Monday through Friday 7:45 am to 5:00 pm and sometimes on weekends for events and games. The SHC is staffed by 3 experienced nurses: Nurse Molly, Nurse Tam and Nurse Thoa. They are available to provide evaluation and treatment for students, staff and visitors. Students need permission from their teacher to leave class to see the nurses. In the event of a medical emergency, the nurses will contact parents then arrange transport to a nearby medical facility for treatment. The nurses are also responsible for sending home information to families about current medical issues at school or in the greater Hanoi community. You can read this information in the Monday Messenger newsletter or in your email.
Before moving to Hanoi, Nurse Molly worked as an Advanced Practice Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Oregon; she received her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Yale University with a specialty in Pediatrics. Nurse Tam has 12 years of experience and graduated from Hanoi Medical University (Bachelor of Nursing) and Hanoi National University (Bachelor of English). Nurse Thoa graduated from Thang Long University (Bachelor of Nursing) and has a certificate in Emergency Surgical Care from Vietnam Germany Hospital. She has 2 years of experience working as a school nurse at a different international school before transitioning to St. Paul.
