Student Accepted into KAIST – Top Science & Technology University

KAIST University Acceptance
A brief introduction about Jaden and his academic interest
As a senior at SPASH, Jun Seo Jang (Jaden), was researching universities that could provide him with the best environment to thrive in Computer Science, a subject he is passionate about.

Jaden’s application process to KAIST
Jaden was drawn to KAIST (the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) for its great reputation as one of the finest universities in Korea and the world. He decided to apply and GREAT NEWS, he was accepted! KAIST accepts very few students from foreign high schools, so this is a tremendous achievement. We’re happy to add, that this is the 3rd consecutive year that a SPASH student has been accepted into KAIST and we are so proud of the accomplishments.

Jaden also loves KAIST because since the field of science plays a big role in Korea and around the globe, KAIST has lowered its tuition in recent years as a way to attract and support young intelligent minds in science programs. In addition, last year, Jaden joined the KAIST summer program and he was immediately engaged in the college level classes as well as the professional environment.

Jaden was never to be left alone throughout his process of applying to KAIST. The SPASH alumnus at KAIST talked to Jaden often, giving him good advice along with great emotional support. Not only that, his SPASH friends were also a big help in supporting him emotionally and academically! Finally, Jaden has special thanks to Mr. Gus Marantos and the College and Career Counseling program at SPASH. Mr. Marantos met with Jaden often to make sure his applications met expectations and kept checking on him often during the stressful waiting time to ensure Jaden had the best emotional support.

Advice for younger students
To students who will look at universities and colleges soon, Jaden advises to start early – at the beginning of high school years! According to Jaden, it does not just mean searching for universities, but also thinking about AP classes, SAT preparation, grade management, and extracurricular activities.

Congrats on such an honorable university acceptance, Jaden! We can’t wait to see your outstanding accomplishments in the future!
