Biography

Ms. Stacey Barta (Perez) comes from the United States. She has been active in the performing arts since the age of 4, finally studying music professionally as a United States Marine Corps Musician earning her music degree at the Armed Forces School of Music in Norfolk, Virginia and then earning her Bachelor of Arts from National University. As a musician in the Marine Corps, Stacey traveled extensively to perform for communities, special events such as the Canton Football Hall of Fame, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, as well as the opportunity to meet and perform with/for famous people such as Harry Connick Jr., BB King, Lee Greenwood, Muhammed Ali, to name a few.

Off stage, Ms. Barta has over 22 years of teaching experience as a public & private school educator, drum corps/marching coach, music director, choreographer, and as owner of her own music company and is well versed in woodwinds, brass, percussion, voice, piano, guitar, dance, and musical theater. Her competitive bands and choirs have earned national and international rankings of gold and silver.
This will be Stacey’s 7th year at St. Paul where she has created another award winning music program, St. Paul Sound, while also serving as Team Lead for the Co-Curricular Department, advisor to The Courier (student led school newspaper), and coach to Varsity Girls Volleyball Team.

“I love teaching because it gives me the opportunity to share my knowledge and experiences with children, encouraging them to be successful in the world beyond our walls through responsibility, communications, respect, self advocacy, and pride in one’s choices and actions.” Stacey’s favorite quote is by Paul Shane Spear: “As one person I cannot change the world, but I can change the world of one person.”
