Shannon has been at St. Paul since the 2018 – 2019 school year. Born in the United States, she claims both Georgia and South Carolina as home states. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science with dual majors in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology and Mathematics from Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, Georgia. After teaching four years of middle school math in Atlanta, she joined the team here at St. Paul where she has taught Algebra 2, Precalculus, AP Calculus AB and BC, as well as developed the Accelerated Algebra 2 and math modeling courses at the school. In her courses, she helps students discover topics while pushing them to explain and demonstrate their understanding using multiple methods for a more thorough understanding of the content. Outside of school, Shannon enjoys baking, cycling, traveling, and reading. She is also currently working on her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Kansas State University.
