Ms. Hannah Stewart

HS SPELL Teacher

Born in the USA, Hannah is honored to spend her first-year teaching overseas at SPASH. Through her world language classes and volunteering with local migrant communities, she discovered that learning a people’s language allows one to understand their culture, so she pursued a bachelor’s degree in Applied Linguistics at Georgia State University. Through this program, she fell in love with teaching English and the intercultural exchange it provided. Later she earned her Master of Arts in Teaching degree in Reading, Language, & Literacy and then taught ESOL and English Literature/Composition at a local Atlanta high school. Ultimately, she considers the witness of growth in students’ confidence and community-building the most rewarding aspects of teaching. Outside teaching she spends her time making clothing, watching indie films, reading, and roller skating.
