Mr. Russel Shaw

Grade 4 Teacher

Mr. Shaw is a Canadian citizen raised in the U.S. He started teaching in 1986. His most recent teaching experience was as the Science and Design Specialist at an international school in Seoul, Korea, where he taught for 9 years. Prior to being in Korea, Russel taught 5th Grade in Oregon, 5/6 Science in Virginia, Science Resource, Gifted & Talented, and 4th Grade in Florida, 4th Grade in Massachusetts, 3rd Grade in Washington, and in developing and teaching many summer and weekend programs at various schools and museums. This year marks his 37th year in education. Russel enjoys anything science related, SCUBA, swimming, being on the beach, traveling, reading, fixing things, woodworking, watching movies, working out in the gym, and of course spending time with his wife.

Mr. Shaw has found that students learn best by doing and “getting their hands dirty.” He is very excited to be able to work with the students at St. Paul!
