Harvard University has always been a dream university for many students around the world. One of our high school students, Jang Jun Seo (Jaden), a junior (Class of 2024), will be achieving that dream this summer.
Jaden was one of a select few students who were recently chosen to participate in Harvard Summer School’s Secondary School program. This seven-week academic program allows students to excel in college courses and earn college credit! Jaden will be enrolling in both biochemistry and computer science courses. He shared his excitement related to learning about Harvard University’s community and culture, and meeting people from all over the world while being able to stay on the Ivy League campus.
When asked to give advice to other students with similar ambitions, Jaden recommended doing significant research on big university summer programs early. He also underlined the importance of maintaining a strong GPA.
Like many other students, Jaden didn’t have a set plan at the beginning of his high school years. He was anxious about his future and wasn’t sure what he wanted to do after graduation. However, he said that by trying out different Beyond and Beyond+ classes throughout his time at St. Paul, Jaden found the passion and academic focus that he wanted to pursue in the future.
Besides great academic and extracurricular courses, our amazing team of school counselors can help high school students who are looking for advice on college, careers, and mapping out what’s next after graduation. Congratulations again to Jaden! We can’t wait to see where this journey takes you.
