Eagle News Elementary – October 2025

Eagle News S4E2

Our Elementary News Team is back with the second episode of Eagle News, filled with stories from fall break, Halloween carnival fun, community support updates, and special interviews across the school. Here’s a look at everything our student reporters discovered this week.

Eagle News: Fall Break Adventures, Halloween Highlights, and More!

Fall Break Adventures Around the World

Our anchors kicked things off by asking students and teachers what they did over fall break—turns out, Eagles traveled everywhere!

  • Some relaxed at home, read books, played with pets, or enjoyed time with family.

  • Others went abroad, to Osaka, Shanghai, and Sri Lanka, where one teacher spotted whales, dolphins, and even a baby elephant on safari.

  • A few families visited beaches, swam in the ocean, and even ran into teachers during their trips.

  • Students also enjoyed game nights, food outings, and plenty of playtime.

Whether near or far, everyone returned refreshed and ready for school.

Halloween Carnival: Costumes, Games, and a Great Cause

Our anchors also interviewed students about their favorite Halloween costumes, from Power Rangers to Jasmine to Juju, and talked about what made this year’s carnival special. One big difference? This year’s carnival took place in the gym, keeping everyone dry and cool.

We also learned more about how carnival fundraising works. Over the years, the event has grown to support:

  • Elementary, Middle, and High School Student Councils

  • St. Paul Sound

  • HAC and athletics

  • House events and end-of-year activities

Money raised helps fund everything from music competitions in the U.S. to prom to school-wide celebrations. Carnival booths included food and drinks, pumpkin and rock painting, face painting, trick-or-treating, musical chairs, Crazy Eyes, Ducks from the Black Lagoon, and many more classic games.

A Special Message From Blue Dragon

Blue Dragon sent a heartfelt message to thank St. Paul students and families for their donations this season. Thanks to your support, families near the Red River affected by recent storms are receiving blankets, rice, oil, stationery, and supplies to help children return to school. Your kindness helps these families know they’re not alone.

Meet a New Teacher: Miss Jen from 5C

In our first episode, we missed introducing one of our newest homeroom teachers,  so this week, students sat down with Miss Jen, the 5C teacher.
Fun facts about Miss Jen:

  • She has lived in four countries: the U.S., Tanzania, Kenya, and Vietnam.

  • She previously worked as a librarian, learning support teacher, and preschool teacher.

  • Her three favorite things? The “three C’s”: cheese, chocolate, and coffee.

Beyond Classes: Student Favorites

The team wrapped up the episode by asking students and teachers about their Beyond classes. Popular choices included:

  • Dance Beyond

  • Game Time

  • Theater Games

  • Arts and Crafts

  • Swimming

Students shared how much they enjoy moving, creating, playing, and spending time with friends in these fun after-school activities.

Looking Ahead: The Winter Concert

Students also had a chance to interview our music teacher about the upcoming Winter Concert, happening on Tuesday, December 9. Each grade level will perform its own songs, celebrating learning, music, and the winter season. It will be a wonderful way to bring the community together.
